Britney Spears' fiancé Sam Asghari reveals he auditioned for 'And Just Like That' - New York Post

Britney Spears’ fiancé auditioned for a role on the “Sex and the City” reboot — but he wasn’t so lucky.

Sam Asghari, 27, took to Instagram Thursday to reveal he was rejected for a minor role in the fifth episode of the new series, “And Just Like That.”

The aspiring actor — who has been dating Spears since 2016 and got engaged in September — wanted to play Carrie Bradshaw’s physical therapist, Travis, but says he was ultimately passed over by casting directors.

The part instead went to hunky Aussie actor Ryan Cooper, 35.

“Man, I was looking forward to this role for the reboot of ‘Sex and the City,’ ‘And Just Like That,'” Asghari wrote on Instagram. “Shout out to the dude that got it! It was a dope role.”

Asghari has been trying to crack Hollywood, but he hasn’t yet been able to do so — despite being engaged to one of the world’s most famous celebrities.

To date, the star has only landed guest roles on programs, including “NCIS.”

He also had a minor part as a “sexy Santa” in the small-screen dramedy “Hacks” — produced by HBO Max.

HBO Max is the same company behind “And Just Like That,” so it’s unclear why execs thought he was the wrong fit for the “Sex and the City” reboot role. The Post has reached out for comment.

However, Asghari’s fortunes may soon change. In October, it was revealed that he landed a lead role alongside Mel Gibson in the upcoming action-thriller “Hot Seat.”

The film revolves around an ex-hacker who is forced back into the industry after an anonymous man puts a bomb under his office chair, Deadline reported.

Iranian-born Asghari is hoping the role will propel him onto the A list so that he can headline a superhero movie.

“My ultimate goal is to be the first Middle Easterner that plays a superhero. Marvel or anybody — they should give me a call,” he told Variety in May.

“I’m doing a lot of MMA training, I’m doing a lot of gun- and stunt-training to be a well-rounded actor such as Tom Cruise, such as Jason Statham,” he further claimed.

Despite being best known as the soon-to-be Mr. Britney Spears, Asghari added: “I want to do action, but I want to be able to do drama as well. This is my craft, and I want to accomplish it 100%.”
