Piers Morgan couldn’t handle the heat, so he stormed off the set.
Morgan, 55, left the set of “Good Morning Britain” on Tuesday after his co-star Alex Beresford confronted him over his incessant criticism of Meghan Markle.
“I understand that you don’t like Meghan Markle. You’ve made it so clear a number of times on this program, and I understand that you had a personal relationship with Meghan Markle and she cut you off,” Beresford said. “Has she said anything about you after she cut you off? She’s entitled to cut you off if she wants to. And yet you continue to trash her.”
Morgan huffed and puffed before storming off as Beresford described his behavior as “diabolical.” The controversial media personality later tweeted that he was “annoyed” so he “went for a little cool-down, and came back to finish the discussion.”
He later added, “I just prefer not to sit there listening to colleagues call me diabolical.”
In a 2018 Daily Mail column, Morgan said he was “ghosted” by the Duchess of Sussex after they became friends in 2015, starting by following each other on Twitter. In 2016, they met for drinks when she was in London and then went out on a date with the man who would become her husband.
“She met Prince Harry at the dinner that night, went on a solo date with him the next night, and I never heard from her again,” Morgan wrote. “Not a word. I’d been ghosted.”
The former “Suits” star never responded to his claims.
Since the column, Morgan has ripped Markle relentlessly, especially after her and Prince Harry’s bombshell sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey, which he described as “an absolutely disgraceful betrayal of The Queen and the royal family.”
